The honest version
Where we think we are better
- We do not build. That sounds like a limitation and it is the point. A practice that also sells the build has a reason to specify in a particular direction. Ours only has a reason to get you approved.
- We publish the data. Approval rates, decision times and Article 4 coverage for every authority we cover, free and before you contact anyone.
- Our tools answer the question first. The Project Calculator tells you whether you need permission at all, which sometimes means you do not need us.
- The whole UK. Not a London practice with regional coverage bolted on.
Where they might suit you better
- Design and build together. If you want one contract covering everything through to completion, a partnered build offering is genuinely less to manage.
- Scale and track record. They have completed a very large number of projects and that experience is real.
- London concentration. Deep familiarity with a small number of boroughs has value if you are in one of them.

Is Extnd cheaper than Resi?
Not necessarily, and anyone claiming a straight answer is guessing. Both work to fixed fees that depend on scope. The more useful question is what is included at each stage and where the fee stops, which is why we publish our stages before you speak to anyone.
What is the main difference?
Independence and coverage. We do not build, so there is no commercial reason for our drawings to point at a particular contractor. And we work across the whole UK rather than concentrating on London and the South East.
Why would I choose Resi instead?
If you want design and build under one roof, a partnered build offering is genuinely simpler to manage and worth considering. If you are in London and value a large established practice with a long track record, that is a reasonable choice too. We would rather you picked the right fit than picked us.
